We can confirm that dogs can eat lettuce, but taking into account some recommendations. We like to offer our dogs a varied diet, although sometimes we can give them food that does not suit them. What about lettuce to the dogs?

Dogs are capable of digesting many foods besides meat. The canine diet includes a small proportion of fruits and vegetables as well. Lettuce is one of the vegetables that we can incorporate into the canine diet, always bearing in mind that the percentage of fruits and vegetables should not exceed 15% of the day’s ratio.

What type of lettuce can I give to dogs?

There are several types of lettuce. The dog can eat all kinds of lettuce, but some have very little nutritional value, so it is not interesting to include them in the diet.

  • Iceberg lettuce: high in water content but low in nutrients.
  • Romaine lettuce: more nutritional value than iceberg.
